So This is Love

We're here! We are in the new house and getting settled in--and we LOVE it.
I'll have you know my drive to work this morning was no more than fifteen minutes!!! Therefore my life has changed forever. This afternoon I got home before 5. Unbelievable.
But that's not all. I love this house for so much more than it's geographic location. It's just so stinkin great; let me just show you a few pictures.

Isn't it precious?
I especially love my tile flooring. And my granite countertops. And my big, big kitchen sink. And my funky toilets.

Want to know something strange? Well, our toilets are just odd. There are two buttons on the top of the toilet. One is for flushing "number one" and the other is for flushing "number two." I thought that was strange. But I like it. It makes me feel all...yuppie.

We've order a rug for the living room. You can see that it looks a little bare in the picture there. Isn't Fletcher just so cute? The pups love sitting on the backs of chairs and couches. It makes them feel tall and special.

If you look closely at the kitchen photos you can see the tiny tiles on the back splash. I love that!
I also love my knife magnet...at least, that was my best guess for whatever the heck that thing is.

We've already had a huge group over and fed everyone and made them Sangria and partied on the Wii Fit. It was great fun--and I feel like "myself" again being able to nest and host and have my turf. Good stuff.

I best be off to bed, but I wanted to give you a little glimpse at the new home.

See that framed picture above my funky toilet? My dad painted that. It's the Little Prince.

Stay classy San Diego.

  3. The toilets in India, if they weren't holes in the ground, had the two-button system. it was interesting.

  4. Cute house! So do your bathroom windows look into the next-door neighbor's bathroom? I was in a house once that did. It always makes me think twice when I'm house-hunting...

  7. Love the picture in the bathroom. And the two-level flushing is common here. You are very European, not very yuppie....

  9. Karen, I concur about the toilets! They were the same in Australia. Saved a ton of water, I think. We also had a solar hot water heater, something every house in the Desert Southwest should have. When you blogged this, did you realize everyone would comment on your toilets?

Very cute house, great curb appeal! Nice job finding such a great place!
